Competition

How the Full Schedule Works:

Teams will play a TBD schedule during the first six weeks (Jan 17, 24, 31, 29, Feb 7, 14, 21) and move into a single elimination 8 team bracket at the conclusion of regular season games on Feb 26 or Feb 27. .

How each Game Night works:

Teams will play 3 games in one night. Games will be to time rather than points. Each game will last 15 minutes, with a hard stoppage at minute 15, and 1 minute between each round. The schedule will be arranged so that teams will only be required to play 2 games in a row (max) and will have game slots off during each league night. See sample schedule below:

Sample Night:

Times Field 1 Field 2 Byes
10:00-10:15 1 vs 2 3 vs 4 5,6,7,8
10:16-10:31 5 vs 6 7 vs 8 1,2,3,4
10:32-10:47 1 vs 3 2 vs 4 5,6,7,8
10:48-11:03 5 vs 8 6 vs 7 1,2,3,4
11:04-11:19 1 vs 4 6 vs 8 2,3,5,7
11:20-11:35 5 vs 7 2 vs 3 1,4,6,8

How each Game works:

Games are to time (see above). The team that has the most points at the end of the round has won the game. If teams are tied at the 15 minute mark, the game will be considered a draw. Teams will be ranked at the end of the six weeks by:

  1. Best record
  2. Head to head
  3. Points v. opponent

About Gender:

The SGL is open to both genders, and captains will be drafting 6 men and 2 women per team.  However, there will be no mandated gender ratio on the field. Teams may play 4 men or 4 women at any time, or any derivation thereof. This policy will be reviewed before the SGL Winter begins
